On February 17 the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials "VIAM" hosted the VIII All-Russian conference on tests and researches of material properties "TestMat". The conference brought together research groups and scientists of VIAM, NPO Energomash, Bauman MSTU, VNIINM, TISNCM, MISIS and of other Russian scientific centers. The methodology and results of studies of structural materials and functional coatings using optical and electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction and x-ray analysis have discussed in more than 30 reports. A number of reports belonged to the field of nanotechnology.
