Serial and special equipment for testing mechanical properties
Since 1995, LaborTech has been developing and producing equipment for testing the mechanical properties of materials and products, as well as for dynamic balancing of parts. The company, located in Opava in the east of the Czech Republic, employs 35 people, about a third of whom are engineers. The company›s equipment is used in engineering, metallurgy, automotive, aerospace and other industries, as well as in education and science. At the Control 2017 exhibition in Stuttgart (Germany), the founder and director of the company Vladan Dusek told about the solutions proposed by LaborTech.
Mr. Dusek, what types of equipment does LaborTech offer?
First, we produce electromechanical and hydraulic machines for testing tension, compression, bending, torsion and shear stress of materials. Electromechanical machines of the LabTest E series allow carrying out static tests at loads from 500 N to 1600 kN. LabTest E is equipped with a rigid frame, providing accuracy and reliability, a highly efficient drive system and a new control system. The LabTest H series includes hydraulic machines for static and dynamic tests. Hydraulic machines for static testing have a measuring range from 200 kN to 10 MN. A special H.3 series of machines has a reversible drive and two working areas. The series H.5 and H.8 are designed for static, quasi-static and dynamic testing and are used to evaluate the mechanical properties of metals, steels and alloys, plastics, composites, wood and other materials, as well as products made from them. Depending on customer requirements, hydraulic machines of tabletop or floor type, vertical or horizontal design, with the top or bottom position of the hydraulic cylinder are offered. A special H.9 series is also designed for testing at speeds up to 20 m/s.

The second group of equipment includes impact pendulum-type and vertical impact testing machines, which are used to control the quality of materials and products in testing centers and laboratories. CHK pendulum impact testing machines are designed to determine the resistance of the material to shock loading and allow testing by methods of Charpy, Izod, Dynstat, Brugger. Tabletop machines provide impact energy up to 50 J, floor-type – up to 750 J. Thanks to the ImpactTest software, the operator receives full information about the progress and results of the tests. Vertical impact testing machines with a freely falling load of the DP series are used to test the impact strength of a wide range of materials, particularly in the automotive industry.
The testing machines can be equipped with the necessary options, for example, heating furnaces, low temperature chambers, additional sensors, probes and measuring instruments, robotic system.
Another group of products is formed by hardness testers designed to control the quality of materials and products in manual, semi-automatic and automatic modes in accordance with ISO, DIN, ASTM, GOST, etc. standards.
We also develop and produce special testing machines and automatic lines for various industries. Such systems can be developed according to individual tasks in accordance with the customer requirements.
And finally, we produce VSTest machines for dynamic balancing of rotating parts. This series includes models of horizontal and vertical types for manual, semi-automatic and automatic balancing.
What competencies of LaborTech you would like to highlight?
We can carry out individual orders for test equipment of almost any complexity, and we do it at a lower cost than our competitors, offering the best prices. It is no coincidence that about half of our orders are non-standard special solutions. At the same time, we offer comprehensive services, including consulting, designing, manufacturing, software development, installation, commissioning and technical support. I would also like to note our experience in modernizing test equipment by replacing obsolete devices, measuring modules and control units.

Who are the main customers of LaborTech?
Our machines, tools and systems are used by enterprises from more than 20 industries, as well as by universities and research centers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Russia, Belarus, India and other countries. Among the key customers are ArcelorMittal, ZF Sachs, Skoda, Czech Academy of Sciences and Slovak Academy of Sciences, Indian Atomic Research Centre, North-Caucasus Federal University. I want to note that the markets of the former USSR are very important for us, we pay great attention to work with Russian customers and, together with our partners from the ThermoTechno group, are happy to help solve the most difficult tasks.
