Early this January 60 years of age celebrates Alexander Nikolayevich Saurov, Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Science of the Institute of Nanotechnology of Microelectronics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (INME RAS), Full Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a prominent scientist and a man of many talents. His longstanding and fruitful scientific research work and managerial activity are highly appreciated by the scientific community and the state. Alexander Nikolayevich Saurov was awarded with Order of the Badge of Honour, Order of Alexander Nevsky, Medals of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland of the I and II class. Three times A.N. Saurov was the laureate of the RF Government Prize for achievements in science and technology. What was his road to such heights? What are the qualities that lead a contemporary scientist to general recognition? What has been done for these years?
