"FemtoScan" AND "FemtoScan XI" AT THE "OPEN INNOVATIONS" FORUM

From October 21 to October 23, the VIII International Forum "Open Innovations" was once again held in Skolkovo. This year’s forum topic is "Digital Nation. Transfer to the intellectual economy". The Advanced Technologies Center participated in the event as an exhibitor, and the leading employees of the company made presentations.

The upgraded scanning probe microscope FemtoScan developed jointly with M.V. Lomonosov MSU in the framework of Project No. 02.G25.31.0135 and the processing center ATC Industry 4.0 with the automatic tool change were presented at the stand of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. During three days of the Forum the stand was visited by representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation: Minister Mikhail Kotyukov, First Deputy Minister Trubnikov Grigory Vladimirovich, Director of the Department of Innovation and Advanced Studies Medvedev Vadim Viktorovich, the members of the representative Chinese delegation, as well as numerous visitors to the Forum.

The basic technical parameters of the processing center ATC Industry 4.0 with the automatic tools change are:
speed of idle movements along the axes – not less than 5.5 m/min;
positioning accuracy – 9 µm;
repeatability – 5 µm;
tool change time – 9 s;
spindle acceleration time from 0 to 24,000 rpm – 7.5 s;
number of displacement axes: 3 linear axes with the possibility of installing additional 4 axes.
The basic technical parameters of the working layout of 3D-manipulator are:
displacement accuracy in the range of 1–10 nm;
ultraprecise processing with a resolution in the sample plane – 0.25 nm and along the normal to the sample – 0.1 nm.
As a part of the business program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, we presented several reports on relevant topics of the strategy of scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation. At a round table devoted to new materials and methods of construction, Yuriy Kirillovich Belov made a presentation "Automation in metalworking: from operator to robot complexes" [1].
In the personalized medicine section, Professor Yaminsky Igor Vladimirovich spoke about biomedical scanning probe microscopy [2], in particular, capillary microscopy [3], 3D bioprinting and the data processing capabilities of the FemtoScan Online software [4, 5, 6]. Also in this section Akhmetova A.I. presented a report on the methods for detecting biological particles using piezoceramic biosensors [7].
With the assistance of RUSNANO and the Foundation for Infrastructure and Educational Programs, in the Startup Expo section, we presented the FemtoScan XI high-speed scanning probe microscope.
FemtoScan XI is a high-speed scanning probe microscope for biology and medicine which can be combined with a Nikon TI-U inverted optical microscope for coincident scanning probe and capillary microscopy. FemtoScan XI also has modern high-speed electronics which allows scanning at a frequency of 1 MHz.
As always, the Forum attracted attention of many participants of the digital industry, it answered the questions about immediate prospects and opened up new opportunities for seeking cooperation.
The "Open Innovations" Forum was preceded by the participation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in the "Scientific and Technological Innovations Show" in Shanghai, where the Advanced Technologies Center also presented its developments and participated in the business program.
We invite everyone to get acquainted with our developments and see the production process in the center of youth innovative creativity "Nanotechnology" by your own eyes. ■
